Seventeen Magazine said in a spring issue- March or April- that when wearing a strapless dress you should wear your hair down but I don't want to do that for prom because it's too much of a hassle. I'm just wondering if it would look ok.

From a guy's point of view, yes. I've seen some really beautiful girls with their hair up in a strapless. (It also probably matters a bit as to what style you do with this.) Don't listen to magazines too much and never be afraid to set your own trends. You'd be surprised how many fashion styles and trends are started from people just doing their own thing and ignoring the general public.

first off it is July. So where I come from prom is either in late april or early may.

If that is the case with you, how do you know you hair will be long in how many months and how do you know your dress will be strappless. and how do you know you Will even have a date.....

All you need to do is think of the movie "My Fair Lady". No one can tell me that ms. Hepburn didn't look stunning with her hair up in a strapless gown. To me, it's classy and classic.

I read that in seventeen too and remember it so it always feels like I'm doing something wrong when I don't follow those suggestions. But that's what they are. SUGGESTIONS. Not rules!!

i think it looks more elegant up. I think that shoulders and necks are very elegant looking, and you should show that by wearing your hair up.

since i am a guy, i will give my comments on wht guys would like! seriously, wearing ur hair down is worth the hassle!! ur hair down would look awesome and totally sexy with a strapless dress.. it will show off ur neck totally.. ofcourse ifu dont feel comfortable with it thts up to u.. but wearing ur hair down would lookk way cooler! best of luck!!

seventeen magazine isnt always right. it just depends on how confident you are about your shoulders and collarbone. im going to a wedding soon wearing a strapless and am planning on wearing an updo.
